About

The West Sussex Football League was formed in 1896 and is a regional feeder league to the Southern Combination Football League Division Two.

The League comprises of 78 teams competing across eight Divisions - Premier Division, Championship, Division One and regional splits across Division Two (North and South) and Division Three (North, Central and South).

Membership may be considered to clubs within reasonable proximity to the West Sussex border, with teams competing from neighbouring counties, Surrey and Hampshire.

The League operates a pre-season curtain-raiser - the Walter Rossiter Trophy - three league cups and three charity cup competitions.

The Walter Rossiter Trophy is contested between the previous season's Premier Division champions and the Centenary Cup winners.

The Centenary Cup includes teams from the top three tiers - the Premier Division, Championship and Division One.

The league's two other cups are the Tony Kopp Cup for Division Two (North) and Division Three (North) and the Bareham Trophy for Division Two (South) and Division Three (South and Central).

The remaining competitions within the league are Charity Cups. These cups are the Malcolm Simmonds Memorial Cup - competed by clubs in the Premier Division and Championship; Chichester Charity Cup (Division One, Division Two North & South) and the Division Three Charity Cup.
